Pupil Results
Children in our school are continually assessed by their teachers who shape and adjust the learning to ensure all children can achieve their best.
Ongoing assessments are made by teachers in a variety of ways such as discussing work and learning with children, marking written work and assessing children’s verbal responses.
At the end of each term, children are assessed and a level for their attainment in reading, writing, maths and science is recorded. This is one of the ways in which we check all children are making the progress of which they are capable. At the end of year 2 and year 6, primary school children sit national tests in reading, writing, spelling and maths.
SATs (Standard Assessment Tests) are taken by every school age child in Year 2 (in an informal way) and Year 6 (in a more formal way).
